Repair Damaged Teeth

Repair Worn and Damaged Teeth. With Modern Restorative Dentistry

When we have dental pain, we usually take care of that as soon as possible. But for other problems, if they’re not causing you discomfort, it’s easy to forget about it.

Are You Ignoring Tooth Problems?

Do any of these situations sound like you? Maybe it’s that small chip on a back tooth. You play with it with your tongue for a while, and then you get used to it. Or you’ve worn down your teeth through grinding and clenching, perhaps because of temporomandibular joint disorder, or TMD. Your teeth may be stained through neglect, smoking, or other causes. Even the smallest problem can keep you from feeling less than your best. Why not explore your options to restore your smile to peak condition?

Options for Restorative Dentistry

There are many options available to restore your smile back to its natural beauty. Replace lost teeth with implants, bridges, or dentures. Brighten your smile through whitening, dental implants, or porcelain veneers. Together, Dr. Briscoe and you will decide what restoration is best for you, your lifestyle, and your budget.

If you live in Fort Wayne (near Arlington Park), Leo-Cedarville, Harlan, or New Haven areas, just call Dr. Todd Briscoe at 855.978.4545, and let us take care of the rest! You may feel good already, but a healthy smile can help you feel great!

Fillings

Dr. Todd Briscoe is not a “follow the crowd” type of dentist. He recommends the best solution for each patient’s individual requirements. When filling your cavities, Dr. Briscoe recommends tooth-colored or composite fillings. Dr. Briscoe will discuss other options with you, if necessary, so you can make an informed decision about which option you want.

Porcelain Inlays and Onlays

Depending on how much of your natural tooth has been removed, you may need porcelain inlays to cover the top of your tooth up to the cusps, and onlays to cover one or more of the cusps.

Crowns and Bridges

When a tooth can’t be restored using fillings or inlays/onlays, or needs extra reinforcement after a procedure such as root canal treatment, then a crown is used to cover the tooth completely to protect and reinforce it against future damage. Dr. Briscoe will discuss with you whether a crown that is porcelain fused to metal (PFM) or an all-porcelain crown is the best option for you.

While we make every effort to preserve a natural tooth, there are times when we need to remove it. If it’s one tooth, you have several options to replace it, including a dental bridge. Just as the name implies, a false tooth bridges the gap between two existing teeth that are on either side of the space.

Dental Implants

Another tooth replacement option, regardless of the number of teeth lost, is dental implants. An oral surgeon will place an implant into the jaw like a tooth root. Dr. Briscoe then places a porcelain crown or bridge on top of the implant(s). Implants can even be used to anchor dentures. The result is a natural looking, high-functioning tooth that will help maintain the strength of the bone and tissue that provide structure to your face.

Root Canal Treatment

Dr. Briscoe performs root canal treatment when the nerve tissues inside the root canals of your tooth have become diseased or are dead. After cleaning out all infection and debris from the canals, he will then fill the canals, and place a porcelain crown over the remaining tooth to reinforce it and protect it.

Oral Surgery

If a tooth needs to be removed, Dr. Briscoe will perform oral surgery in-house. He will also extract wisdom teeth, although in some cases, he may refer you to a colleague who specializes only in oral surgery.

At all times, during any treatment, we will make sure that you are relaxed, comfortable, and as pain-free as possible. We will put you at ease before any work is done with nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”). We can also help any pre-visit anxiety with a mild oral sedative. You’re fully awake and aware, but the physical and mental anxiety will be reduced.

Full Mouth Restoration

If every or nearly every tooth in your mouth is cracked, crooked, or badly stained (or all of the above), then Dr. Briscoe can transform your smile in a full mouth restoration. Using any or all of the treatments described above, Dr. Briscoe can restore each and every tooth to healthy, appealing, and functional role. Take a look at our Smile Gallery to see what’s possible to transform a poor smile into a beautiful one.

Partial and Full Dentures

If you lost more than one or two teeth, or all of your teeth, Dr. Briscoe can fit you with well-fitted, well-functioning partial or full dentures. He will fit and place the dentures in-house, so he can personally manage the entire process to his satisfaction.
